President’s Message

April 2026

I cannot thank you enough for attending our March Chapter Meeting. There were countless details to be organized behind the scenes, so much so that we formed a dedicated committee just to bring the evening together. A huge thank you to LeAnna and the auction committee for the time, creativity, and effort that made the night such a success.

In case you missed it, we experienced Tulsa from a perspective many of us don’t often see. From the venue itself to the conversations around the architectural decisions that shaped our city, and what lies ahead, the evening offered more than just a change of scenery. It highlighted the similarities between the city we call home and the chapter we’ve built together: both grounded in strong foundations and shaped by the people who invest in them.

One of the most rewarding parts of the night was seeing members at every stage of their careers fully engaged, bidding, connecting, and sharing stories. It was a great reminder of what makes NEOK special. We also celebrated some incredible milestones, from record attendance to Mary’s pies reaching record-breaking bids. And of course, congratulations to our Hall of Fame inductee, Steve Johnson. Steve has been a mentor to me since I joined ASHRAE, and his example is a reminder to seek out a mentor (or become one!) and intentionally build a path forward.

While March centered around honoring our history and strengthening connections, it also marked a shift in our calendar. Many of the events ahead are new for our chapter, and that brings a lot to look forward to.

We carried that energy forward at the end of March with another sustainability focused event. The golf panel was an absolute standout, and we are incredible grateful to the superintendents who shared their time and insight with us. Moments like these allow us to continue introducing fresh perspectives and meaningful conversations to our members.

April continues that momentum with the following events:

-April 1 : Join us at Ti Amo’s at 11:30 as Brent Fullerton presents on the ASHRAE Presidential Theme, focusing on Indoor Environmental Quality through system effect and fan efficiency. We will also recognize our student members and award scholarships.

-April 9 : Our first NEOK Cornhole Tournament. Come be part of what we hope becomes a new chapter tradition!

-April 19 : Another first! ASHRAE Family Day! Bring your kids to explore sustainability and HVAC through a movie and hands-on activity while connecting with other families in a relaxed setting. The event begins at 2PM at Welltown.

-April 23 -26 : Join us at CRC in Little Rock to celebrate our chapter year and connect with members from across the region. This is a great way to get more involved in our chapter, and help shape what comes next.

This year has been an incredible one for NEOK. Our chairs and committees have dedicated significant time and effort to creating thoughtful, engaging programming for our members.

As we move into the final stretch, I encourage you to take advantage of what is ahead. Attend something new, invite a colleague, or find a way to get mor involved. The strength of this chapter comes from the people who contribute to it, there is still time to be part of what makes this chapter so great
