2024-2025 Timeline
As we begin a new Chapter Year of 2025-2026, let us look back at our Chapter activities and accomplishments from last year. It was a year full of both special events along with refreshing events which have served us well over the years. If you are thinking of any activities or awards that I have overlooked, please email that information to me and I will add to the annual History Review.

Board of Governors: Matt Simmons (past president), Steve Uerling, Ray Gomez, Mike Kirk, Steve Johnson, and LeAnna Reynolds The CRC meeting was held in Tulsa, OK - April 24 through April 26, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Downtown · The golf event was held on April 24th at Tulsa Country Club. · Welcome Reception on April 24th at Welltown Brewery. · Friday, April 25th, Companion Tour of Downtown Art Deco Architecture followed by mixology class. · Friday, April 25th Sock Hop at Rucker Event Center. Delegate: Austin Barton Alternate: Sara Fazel Newsletter: Sara Fazel --------------------------------------------------- -- Volume 65 Meetings 2024 & 2025: · August 8th – Board of Governors planning meeting. · October 2nd – Presenter was Jason Fisher and Kerry Rowland from PSO. The presentation covered the Energy Efficiency Rebate Programs which PSO is offering. · November 6th – Presenter was Sherrie Dyer from the Oklahoma Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. The presentation was on strategies for successfully completing the PE Exam. History Page 9 August 2025 December 4th – Presenter was Dennis Knight, Society President. The presentation was on “Workforce Development.” Special Guests were State Senator, Dave Radar and Region VIII DRC, Joe Sanders. · January 8th – Presenter was Abby Massey, PE, LEED AP, from Tax Taker. The presentation was on how to leverage available tax credits contained in the “IRA Bill” and deductions for designing energy-efficient buildings. · February 5th – Presenter was Douglas Reindl from the University of Wisconsin. The presentation was “Back to Basics: How does a liquid chiller work”? · March 5th – Presenter was David Shurk with the ASHRAE Little Rock Chapter. The presentation was “Demystifying Desiccant Dehumidification: It’s not Rocket Science.” The Chapter recognized Life Members and Past Presidents for their service. LeAnna Reynolds presented Mary Bowers with an induction into the NEOK Hall of Fame. · April 2nd – Presenter was Joe Vanhoorn with Kinetics Noise Control. The presentation was Seismic Design Basics. Student scholarships were presented. · May 7th – Presenter was Juan Rueda from Greenheck Fan Corporation. The presentation was DOAS Fundamentals – Induction of Officers for the upcoming 2025 – 2026 Chapter Year. · Board of Governors meetings were held each month from September 2024 to May 2025, typically the Thursday following the Chapter Meetings. 2024 Events: · September 12th - Fall Golf Tournament was held at Battle Creek Golf Course. Steve Johnson was Golf Chairman with Co-Chairs, Ryan Rehms, and Tyler Boss for this successful event. · October 24th – YEA Happy Hour · October 26th – TU ASHRAE Chapter sponsored the Tailgate at University of Tulsa Homecoming – Student Activity. · November 18th – Student Chapter tour of Greenheck Manufacturing Facility. · December 19th - Christmas Party at Fassler Hall. Page 10 August 2025 Life Members Past Presidents Newest HOF member Mary Bowers into NEOK HOF 2025 Events: · February 26th - State Capitol outreach in Oklahoma City, joined by the Central Oklahoma Chapter. Organized by Chad Smith. · March 12th – TU Student Chapter Lunch and learn. The presentation was by Mark Fly, Retired from AAON. Austin Barton was available to answer student questions regarding ASHRAE and the NEOK Chapter. · May 13th– Spring Par 3 Golf Tournament was held at LaFortune Golf Course. The Golf Co-Chairs were Steve Johnson and Tyler Boss. · May 22nd – YEA Baseball Event – Suite Donated by AAON. Awards: · The Hall of Fame Award this year went to Mary Bowers. This was presented at a Chapter Meeting in March. · Jack Tumilty Scholarships were awarded to: Abram Smith, Owasso High School. · Student Scholarships were awarded to: Gwenith Madhan, Tulsa University and Batyr Nuryyev, Tulsa University. · Chapter was awarded the following at April 2025 CRC in Tulsa, OK (applicable to 2023-2024 Chapter year UNO): Chapter: Premier (One of only two Chapters in all of Society to have been awarded every year since inception), High Honor Roll, Star Chapter, Special Citation. Research Promotion: Dollars Raised / Member, Bronze Treasury Ribbon, Challenge Goal, Full Circle and Total Dollars Raised. Membership Promotion: Blue Ribbon Award. Best Chapter Newsletter, Sara Fazel 2024-2025. Best President’s Message, Austin Barton 2024-2025. Miscellaneous: FYE 2024-25: AAON again is a Platinum contributor with their Research Promotion donation of $20,000 of which NEOK received $10,000 credit (Split with East Texas).
