Research Promotion

ASHRAE annually funds about $9 million dollars in research projects that improve our industry technology and standards. The chapters across the country help to raise money at the grass roots level and Northeast Oklahoma has been a leader in that effort.

Last year, the NEOK chapter raised over $50,000.00 for research promotion, which was the first time the chapter exceeded the $50,000 mark in our history. Society has established a goal for each chapter to raise funds that equate to $75.00 per member. Last year, the NEOK chapter raised $237.00 per member, which was the highest ratio in Society.

The Northeast Oklahoma chapter is blessed active participation from individual members, corporate members, and industry manufacturers. Well over 50% of our membership contributes regularly to research. We are also very proud of the fact that we have two local organizations that are Golden Circle contributors. That is, they give amounts in excess of $10,000 per year. Those donors are AAON, Inc. and the Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Oklahoma.

While raising money for research is a responsibility our chapter takes seriously, we also have fun doing it. The chapter has a golf tournament, chapter auction, poker night, and other activities through the year to help add to our fund raising efforts.
